Taking Cars out of Garage for Impound/Scrap

Make it so that Police cant just take a car out your garage and impound it for 72 hours ready for scrapping.

Back in the old days of the server the Interceptor team could actually drive and had a chance when chasing people. Police can take as many officers they want to a situation, Yet they can just wait until someone isnt online and take an Expensive car out their garage. I understand that they might be looking for the car and if it was used in a fight. But all it feels at the moment is that no one can be a "Smart Criminal" in the server anymore. You use ANY car in anything and it gets taken out your garage and scrapped with NO interaction between the players. The servers called ROLEPLAY however theres no roleplay between police and Crims at any time. I would understand if we was chased, it was taken and scrapped.

Also if we take a SGT+ hostage and demand that the cars released its Classed as Powergaming? Surely if you take a Car out a garage without anyone having a chance of stopping it then thats powergaming?

So shit to log on to have a text saying your car has been impounded for 72 hours whilst you were offline. Gives you no chance of trying to save it for a little longer or even get chased with it.

Feel like that's just far too easy to just look where it's parked, take it out and impound it for scrap. Yawn....RP IT.

Police always go on about how they enjoy "the realism" of being a cop on the server, yet they already get so much information like house locations etc. fed to them with little to no work. Makes you wonder why there is a CID Section to begin with. What happened to working for that kind of intel, building up files in RP? Do better. ✌️

we need warrants to take cars out of garages, and if they're located in certain garages(believe it's gang garages and house ones, may be wrong) they'll be marked as unknown.

we rarely(i hope) decide to do said warrants at dead times as it just seems unfair, and a bit stupid to take a gang members car willy nilly out of a gangs turf.

this is obviously gunna be downvoted by police mains too.
Probably, just the way of getting a easy win.

+1 as long as the changes are beneficial for both sides 🙂

Instead of not being able to take them, as that’s going to massive downvoted, it might be worth considering reverting back to the old way where car locations didn’t show on the PNC. Means you can essentially park cars in any garage in the city, or in someone’s house etc… and Police need to do some work to find them.

Id agree with Nikolai, +1 as long as it’s balanced for both sides. It might be balanced in the Polices favour now, but there’s no point in making a change if it’s going to tip the balance in the complete other direction.

Laughable to be honest. Join CID first and see how long it takes to build up cases, request for intelligence and info before you think its easy.. The majority of our requests for information are denied unless there is alot of strong evidence and lots of investigating beforehand. There is alot of units in the police who work their ass's off, CID, RCT, Venice and mocu who put in countless hours to even get to the point of getting the warrants written up, reviewed, approved and then actioned. Its not as open and shut as you may think.

I've been on both ends of this. I was in MOCU and did all the car raids for 229 when police raided them as well as 60% of the house raids and it was fairly simple to get all the evidence in all honesty. Skill issue +1 lads

So as an "avid" scrapper,

Few points on this, the policy which the police follow is online and public to view if we don't match the table on section 2, the judges just decline it. There are plenty of ways to stop yourself falling fowl of this, plenty of car parks we cant see. We come across people all the time that because of their actions we can't get the car or prove it was them using it and then it gets NFA'd(released from impound / intel actioned) Also we only have 1 server restart to complete the seizure or we have to start the whole process again. So if you hide them well we won't find it.

Simple things like paying tickets, not using your car in a gunfight is the best way to avoid it. Honestly baffling when gangs are dropping the rival gangs cars off at the station so we can scrap them. The system works and is great until its against you then it sucks. That's the point, by writing fourm posts and coming to the station and complaining proves that it's having the desired effect. Be smarter. Think out side the box and actually roleplay it as you put it. having a mini war in cars in public with helicopters and such floating above and expecting nothing to happen, like the policy is very clear and yet people are dumbfounded when they ignore it they get punished.

RPU only really action warrants on cars and houses after 18:00 to give a fair chance for people to be around. We spend a lot of time gathering Intel, writing warrants to then get the car, which includes alot of RP that you just don't see. Including the actual seizure of it. Especially if it's in a gang compound.   If it happens and you wake up and have lost  a car you have every right to appeal it and that roleplay out, It doesn't have to be a "Loss" straight away try turning it into a win.

The power gaming, well yea, there is nothing stopping you from paying someone off to release it. Or pleading your case and hoping the officer doesn't notice and releases it anyway

The scrap system all in all does exactly what it's meant to, people care more about losing assets then they do about prison time or fines. Its one of the only ways people actually get to think about their actions. Just look at labile and the zentorno 😉

I think this is the best option ngl

The fact that gangs actually hand in other gangs cars is ratty as fuck sheeeeesh loolll

+1 I lost me schlagen GT 😔, i do think its somewhat unfair how police have this power to see where ur car is and just take the car away to scrap it, if this was to stay i think it should take away your fine, I got me car scrapped and still had to pay 400k+.
