They've pretty much over-dominated the CPU market at the moment. No point in them getting involved in GPUs as nVidia have that pretty much on lockdown. PSUs would be silly. Pretty much just leaves storage. I'd like to see Intel RAID not be a total pile of garbage.
On the topic of hobbled by sata - the microserver i've bought (coming ANY MOMENT TODAY!) has 4 SATA ports on its backplane (no SAS?) and only 2 are SATA6, and 2 are SATA3. What the fuck HP. THIS IS A GEN8 SERVER!!! So might have to stick a Dell Perc in to it.
