AltisLife UK - Community Outreach -

Walt

Inspector Walt of the FPD
Hello Community,

After attaining the rank of SI and with it now being part of my duties to keep the Police Complaints Commission in check and up to date, it has come to my attention that not much is being done to encourage a more positive behaviour towards the different teams formed among Altis. I have members of the Police, Civilians and Rebels coming to me all with different issues, queries and concerns regarding the way in which situations are dealt with or how they may be handled should that situation arise.

Police meetings are obviously a common occurrence, but there is little going on that engages the Civilian and Rebel groups. With this in mind I would like to begin this Community Outreach project. The aim is simple, create a platform for proper dialogue between the different factions among Altis to air any sort of concerns they have, debate or simply chat and get to know each other more. I am in a somewhat blessed position where I know a lot of the Rebels and I believe as a result, I have a much richer gaming experience and I would like that for everyone.

So, the plan is to set up a Weekly / Fortnightly / Monthly meeting for the Community which anyone can get involved in and basically talk about stuff. I believe this will help create more mutual understanding and hopefully result in less reports and more open discussion.

Some examples of what could be spoken about -

Rebels could get clarification on how specific situations could be Roleplayed by Police

Police could question Gangs on actions they take, why they do it etc.

So. To get this underway, there obviously has to be some community engagement, so before setting a time and date I would like to get some sort of thumbs up as to whether this is something the community would want, something they would want to get involved in. Again, everyone is welcome. We have had these meetings once or twice in the past, and I believe they went well, I certainly enjoyed it. So now I would like to make it a more permanent thing. The server is good, but this Community truly makes ALUK what it is, and I hate to see the conflict in the forums.

Thank you,

SI Walt.

+1 From this forum janitor, everytime a thread has to be locked because people are throwing around allegations and opinions not backed by anything but madness I die a little inside.
Communication is always key and always awesome.

Damn kids and your double posting.

Absolutely 100% agree with this, and don't think I really need to say much more on the matter.

Great froward thinking, I like the idea and I hope the community participate. The Mayor (whilst it still applies to me) will certainly be attending!

The last rebel meeting was bit of a mess, this is a good idea as long as there is some structure to the debate.

Get a topic up on the forums each week (or two depending how often this happens) where people can submit their concerns on the more pressing matters to discuss at the meeting.

Or is this just going to happen on the forums? Either way, structure is a good starting point to getting something done.

+1 it will be good for the police and rebels to get an understanding on why they do certain things. Can prevent a lot of future complications.

Wonderful idea, think this could open alot more possibilities towards understanding eachothers sides, since all the factions aren't the best of friends. except the NHS, everyone love the lollipop giving people

This would be good. I was a ex rebel so i got many friends as rebels and this would create an understanding between factions +1 to Mr Walt

+1 a brilliant idea. I do feel there is a lot of room for these meetings to crumble into inaudible disputes but with proper management this might be prevented.

Personally I would love to discuss the reasoning behind some rebel groups play styles and I'm sure they'd like to do the same regarding police.

Once again +1, this should be tried at the very least

totaly agree i tried for a long time to get some sort of regular meetings between all factions when i was general of the unmc (probably could of saved our demise) but it fell on deaf ears im glad someone else had taken up the batton and suggested it

I feel like this would be a good idea but I think there should be representatives from each gang and some from the police and NHS. The reason I think it should be this way is so it won't get to loud and out of hand.

To keep the meetings structured, I would suggest only giving the Gang Leaders and the head of police the power to talk/chat. Any questions they have can be asked in the google form. +1 Walty ;)

Please not on a Sunday again :/

But otherwise, the idea itself although time consuming, it should be rewarding
